Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This policy explains what PingZero collects, why, and what you can do about it. PingZero is run by PingZero, United States. You can reach us at pingzero.gg@gmail.com.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account and route your game: your username, email, a scrambled version of your password, and how PingZero is working for you.
- PingZero only routes game traffic. We never see your browsing, Discord, downloads or anything else.
- We never sell your data, and we don't use ad networks.
- Your account works on one PC at a time. To do that, and so one PC can't collect many free trials, we keep scrambled markers of your PC. They can't be turned back into your real PC details.
- When you log in, the app sends your PC's specs (like CPU, graphics card, RAM and Windows version) so we can help when your ping is bad. Never your files, programs or anything personal.
What we collect
| What | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Username, email, Account ID | Your account, logging in, support | Until you delete your account |
| Password | Logging in. Stored only as a scrambled hash (Argon2id). Nobody can read it | Until you change it or delete your account |
| Discord or Google sign-in (if you use it): that account's ID, email and display name | Logging you in with Discord or Google, and naming a new account. We never see your Discord or Google password | Until you delete your account |
| 2-step login secret (if you turn it on) | Checking your phone codes | Until you turn it off or delete your account |
| Login sessions | Keeping you logged in | 12 hours, or 30 days with "Keep me logged in" |
| IP address of each request | Security: stopping abuse and checking free trials | 12 months |
| Account history (logins, keys used, time added, bans) | Security and support | 12 months |
| PingZero sessions (which server, start and end time) | Running the service, support, stopping abuse | 12 months |
| Ping numbers the app measures | Showing you real results and improving routes | Kept on your PC. We only keep totals that don't identify you |
| Free trial markers (scrambled PC IDs, email and network) | One free trial per person and per PC | 12 months, even if you delete your account |
| PC lock (scrambled PC IDs and your PC's name) | One PC per account, and blocking banned PCs | Until you delete your account. Banned PCs: 12 months |
| PC specs (CPU, graphics card, RAM, Windows version, screens, network card, time zone, language) | Support and fixing ping problems | Until you delete your account |
| Problem reports you send from the app (with the app's log) | Fixing the problem you reported | 12 months |
| Payment details | Handled by our checkout provider. We never see your full card number | Under the provider's own policy |
Your game traffic
When PingZero is on, only traffic going to the game's servers passes through our servers. We don't read or store what's inside it. Our servers only keep what's needed to run the connection, and they remove your access on their own when your session ends.
The app on your PC
The app stores its settings on your PC. If you choose "Keep me logged in", your login is saved there too, encrypted by Windows so only your Windows account can read it. While it runs, the app may change a few Windows network settings to lower lag (like pausing Wi-Fi scans). It puts them back when you turn PingZero off or close it.
Emails we send
We email you about your account: receipts, keys, password resets, renewal reminders and big changes to PingZero. Now and then we may also send news or offers about PingZero. You can stop those any time with the unsubscribe link in the email, or by emailing us. Account emails keep coming while you have an account.
Our website and cookies
Our website runs on Shopify. It uses cookies that are needed for the site and checkout to work, and Shopify may collect basic visit data as described in its own privacy policy. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use the website (clicks and scrolling, with typed text hidden), so we can make it better. We don't use advertising cookies.
Who we share data with
- Service providers that help run PingZero: hosting (Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services), our website and checkout (Shopify and our subscription app), and email delivery. They only get what they need to do their job.
- When the law requires it, or to stop fraud and abuse.
- Payment providers and banks, when you open a dispute or chargeback, to show the purchase and how the account was used.
- Never sold.
Where your data is stored
Our servers are in the United States and Europe (Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services). If you're outside the US, your data may be handled in the US, with the protections this policy describes.
Why we're allowed to use your data (EU and UK)
To run your account and the service (our contract with you). To stop fraud, abuse and repeat free trials, and to keep PingZero secure (our legitimate interest). For news and offers, only if you agreed (consent), and you can stop any time.
Your choices and rights
- See or get a copy of your data: email pingzero.gg@gmail.com.
- Fix it: change your email or password from the app.
- Delete your account: use "Delete account" in the app, or email us. We delete your username, email, PC specs and account history. The scrambled free trial markers stay for 12 months so deleting can't be used to get another trial. They can't be linked back to you.
- Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have extra rights, like asking us to limit or stop using your data, or complaining to your local data protection authority. Email us and we'll help.
Security
Passwords are scrambled with Argon2id. Keys and reset codes are stored only as scrambled hashes. Logins are rate limited, and our servers only accept logged-in players with time on their account. No system is perfect. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you without undue delay, and within 72 hours where the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
The newest version is always on this page. If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
